I was reading an article about some letters written by Mother Theresa which address the trouble she sometimes had in maintaining her faith. "What do I labor for?" she asked in one letter. "If there be no God, there can be no soul. If there be no soul then, Jesus, You also are not true."

It is easy to feel this way. I thought of this song by XTC called Dear God.
